Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba is one of the oldest living tree species in the world. The extract is made from its leaves and it is one of the most popular herbs on the market. It contains a huge amount of antioxidants that can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent some of the damage they cause and maybe even reverse it.

Free radicals are believed to contribute to a number of health problems including cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.

There has been a lot of research done on ginkgo biloba and it’s proving to be very effective and safe. The herb is so popular in Europe that doctors are even prescribing it. I think that alone says a lot. Ginkgo helps maintain healthy circulation to the arms, legs and brain. It also improves your memory, brain function and mental focus……no more senior moments, yes!

Several studies have shown that taking Ginkgo can also reduce or even get rid of the condition called Tinnitus, which commonly effects older adults. It’s characterized as ringing in the ears and dizziness.

When you decide to take advantage of this wonderful herb, make sure that when you purchase the tablets or capsules it is in standardized extracts containing 24-30% flavone glycosides and 6-10% terpene lactones. This is the active flavonoids.

It can take anywhere from five to six weeks or more to notice or feel any difference. You just have to hang in there and as always consult with your doctor before taking any supplements, specially if you are taking any medications.
