Essential Amino Acid : Isoleucine

One of the many essential amino acids is Isoleucine. This specific amino acid is important in everyday life, but it is even more important when working out.

What does It Do?

Well it does a few things. One very important thing it does, especially for body builders and athletes is it, along with two other amino acids (Leucine and Valine) promote muscle recovery after exercise. This is very important if you want to build muscle mass.

Another thing it does is it forms hemoglobin and assists with regulating blood sugar levels and energy levels.

It also is involved in blood-clot formation.

What Does a Deficiency Do To You?

A deficiency is only found in people deficient in protein and in people with mental and physical disorders. If you are deficient you may experience some symptoms. These include:

# Dizziness
# Fatigue
# Depression
# Confusion
# Irritability

So How Much Should I Be Taking?

You should have nothing to worry about if you have plenty of protein in your diet.

The only time you should be worried about taking more is if you want to use it as a supplement to help speed up muscle recovery. I suggest not taking a supplement unless working out.

It isn’t dangerous to take high doses because the only symptom of taking a high level of it is frequent urination.

There are many supplements out there this specific amino acid.
