Apple Cider Vinegar Diet

People have been using the apple cider vinegar diet as a treatment for osteoarthritis for centuries, since as far back as 3,000 BC. Hippocrates, who was the father of modern medicine, used cider vinegar for its healing qualities and Egyptians were using it for various health benefits, including weight loss.

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”

You will have heard that old quotation and it is well deserved because apples are amongst the most health giving fruits available, containing a host of nutrients such as Potassium, Phosphorous, Magnesium, Calcium, Chlorine, Sulphur, Iron and Fluorine, plus many trace elements.

All of these are found in apple-cider vinegar too, which is very effective in detoxicating your body and ridding it of the harmful acids, which seriously aggravate those already painful joints.

Drink a glass of warm water with two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two teaspoons of honey three times a day as part of your apple cider vinegar diet for osteoarthritis pain relief.

Cider vinegar, being high in pectin and potassium, aids the proper functioning of the heart and the muscles. It contains many key vitamins, enzymes, minerals and amino acids, as well as valuable fruit acids.

An apple cider vinegar diet aids digestion and improves the health and function of your liver, bladder and kidneys. It also prevents high blood pressure by helping to thin the blood.

Apple cider vinegar arthritis cure

Apple cider vinegar seems to have a particular following among older people and many consider it one of the natural cures for osteoarthritis.
Sarah and the apple cider vinegar arthritis cure.

Sarah was a church organist from Lancashire in the UK. Because of osteoarthritis she was bedridden, in constant pain, unable to sleep and very depressed by her condition.

She was crying all the time, was emotionally and physically drained and the pain was totally crippling…it was as if someone was drilling through the base of her spine.

As she was allergic to prescribed anti-inflammatory tablets it meant she could not take any drugs to ease her pain.

By following an apple cider vinegar diet she believed she had been cured of the osteoarthritis in her spine.
Mrs Wright and the apple cider vinegar diet.

I recall the case of Mrs Wright, from the UK, who discovered apple cider vinegar as a cure for osteoarthritis after having both her hips replaced at the young age of 45.

She couldn’t bear to go back into hospital for yet more surgery so asked the doctor to put her operation on hold.

In the meantime a friend lent her a book about natural remedies and folk medicine.

She was so poorly that she could no longer even use her hands to open a bottle. Nevertheless she followed the apple cider vinegar diet suggested in the book.

Gradually she began to feel her fingers beginning to loosen up, her pain eased and soon after the pain stopped altogether.

Mrs Wright continued with the remedy for 37 years and she was able to use her fingers to take the lids off jars even at 82 years of age, with no problem whatsoever.

Just because there are no medical studies to prove that it works does not mean that it doesn’t.

Curiously, many people who have taken Cider Apple Vinegar over an extended period have noticed significant weight loss.

Cider apple vinegar is particularly tart to drink but mixing it with a little honey makes it much more palatable. You may have heard of ‘Honegar’, which is a mixture of apple cider vinegar and honey.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the explorer, ran seven marathons in seven days on seven different continents in 2003.

He had been drinking an apple cider vinegar diet for over 20 years to relieve his aching joints and few can claim to have such an extreme lifestyle as his. He found it worked as an arthritis treatment so he stuck with it.

He’d suffered since his army days in the 1970s when sleeping rough in the jungle and canoeing made his fingers and hips sore. “It took between eight to twelve months but the daily dose worked and then I found myself pain-free” he said.

Sir Ranulph is certain that it was the apple cider vinegar diet that relieved his pain because when he stopped taking it, the pain returned.

Note: After drinking cider apple vinegar make sure you rinse your mouth out with water. If acid remains on your teeth it will, over time, dissolve the enamel as it does with calcium deposits around the sink.
